Can someone explain to me the concept of reputation? I understand how to get it, but I don't understand how it works. I'm not sure if I want a higher reputation or a lower reputation, and I don't have any clue what the reputation even does. Does it change dialogue? Does it influence various scenes? If someone could explain this to me in depth I would be very grateful.
Sorry, not in-dept but maybe this much as a start: In fights it influences if the opponent wants to hurt your PC or rather tries to seduce it.
As well, there is at least one place where your char gets gang-roped if the reputation is "Werewolf: Loving". So a high reputation is not always a good thing. Then there is a place where NPCs invite your PC to spend time with them, if its reputation is good amongst that group of people - but they instantly throw your PC out if the reputation is bad.
In the end you should try good, bad and neutral and see. So it is not the case that a good or bad or neutral reputation always has exactly that outcome. At least that's my experience so far.
Decided to play from the start to unlock the second option from Logan. Question, do you have to be fully virgin to unlock the other variant for 'Too Knoty"? Or just the ass? Also please refresh my memory and how do I learn the recipe for restraint potion for the curse of lust quest?
yes, and to get it you need to have chosen him first in the werewolf storyline for the first heart, then after doing the expansion quests for bareshade + the country road questline and see the fight between Logan and Barrel at the bar you go home and rest at I believe it's either 18:00 or 20:00 to anytime and he should knock then just don't pick the red options and you should get his second heart, which after or before you do that you need to do the werewolf storyline further, doing it after is recommended due to it making your house in the forest unable to sleep in or go to at night unless you wanna progress the werewolf storyline without the second heart (which I think locks you out of a scene and also his third heart). but once you have the second heart you just gotta continue doing what the quest book says on the werewolf storyline.
editing to add, I checked and the I owe you a beer thing happening after the third heart event does not lock you out of Logan's third heart. you can get Logan's third heart second then do the I owe you a beer thing.

... in the construction phase. I was trying to express that Lenny and Roland did not die. If I understood correctly the hole can be reestablished without help but as the game hinted that Blake/Dulrig and Lenny/Roland could help to make a glory hole that has some open/closing mechanism I decided to choose that path. I guess Ste would like that better... Or I got that all wrong?!
I don't know if that choice is good or bad.I'm just worried because the events on Ste's farm haven't changed at all since then.I'm glad Lenny/Roland both survived.
no you didn't get it wrong, maybe the Ste bit but that's because I have no idea if there's a difference between doing it completely alone or with help since I always get help. but the way you find them is at night, go to Bareshade after getting the dialog from the gloryhole saying you could get help and it should give you a prompt saying "look for (this character)" I'm not certain which one you find at night, but I think it's Lenny.
Is there another requirement? I just clicked on "check materials needed" again and sent my char right to Bareshade but there is no offer to look for somebody. Maybe it has to be a specific day or not Sunday or such? Arrival @BS 2:40 > Track > BS no "look for" again.
no there shouldn't be another requirement but I may be missing something... I'm gonna look for my save when I was building the GloryHole and see if I'm missing something.
edit: nah I was right no extra requirements, you just gotta go there at 20:00 for the time.
also kinda funny thing about it is when I went with Ste to the gloryhole at night for the first time it didn't take my characters virginity. I know this because I checked the extra requirement on my virgin for Logan save. also you don't need 2 hearts to get the sex scene with Logan, need to correct another comment I made saying you could get locked out if you don't get the second heart...

How strong is hard to say. It depends on your player character and how you play the game. What works are Lust Potions. Seven Corrupted Lust Potions were enough when my PC "attacked" Vicoria the last time. Potion strength - at least those your character is drinking - are influenced by Int. So you should maybe approach her with ten of those Lust potions, just to be on the safe side. Please save before you approach her.
At that time, there were several options, and I chose an option like "I want to save everyone", but after that, Ste's favorability only increased, but the ♡ did not increase. thank you!

Hey, i'm having a hard time with the event where Barrel sleeps in my house at Bareshade, I'm not sure if its because i have more hero points than lewd or is it another reason? I wanna see the scene with Barrel and Harold, aparently it is a thing according to the Wiki but im having a hard time with it, any tips? IIRC the game is showing that. You need either two hearts or be intelligent enough to convince him. Maybe enough strength (use force) might do as well - I'm not sure. Maybe you need to help him with the guy which is stalking him first.

Everetts men still attack the PC after it became Everetts special agent
So Everett officially made my player character his special agent for the contact with the Orcs. That happened when he gave access to the military area in Northcrest (barracks, jail and Alden - not the training area*). IIRC he even told the soldiers/guards to give full support. When visiting the outpost the guards directly lead the way to Everett. However, the soldiers on the Battlefield and the guards on the Northcrest Road are still attacking. Shouldn't they know about the special agent status? After all, Everett is their top military commander.
* There is a separate button to click for the sparing area ("Take a look") so I guess it will be available later or it is not in the game yet.
EDIT: Probably due to some interaction (visiting the mine?) with Dulrig the soldiers on the battlefield let go now. I guess another event will pacify the NorthCrest guards on the NC Road as well.
Triggering the "I owe you a beer" event is fcking frustrating. I've completed all the necessary events to trigger that one. I literally slept/rest on my house on bareshade like a hundred times and still nothing.
It's been a while since I've played this one and just got back into it and I have finally updated both saves for Normal and Bottom Logan routes to the recent events. Thank fuck, this was a long ass game but I love it that way.
Also let me just say, I did not anticipate being into troglodytes this much as I have. Those scenes with them were something. I used to ignore them when they didn't have any sprites and they're not exactly the hottest out of all the monsters, hell out of all the characters even honestly, but I dunno, there's something about them that intrigued me. Plus that gangbang scene with them in that cave was hot. With them talking over my character in a language I don't understand while they take my character's ass was hot. Maybe they're calling my character a bitch or maybe they're talking about keeping my character there forever, I dunno it's just very intriguing to think about.
Also, I hope we get more Bottom Logan stuff, I honestly love his Normal route, he finally fucked my character but I still wanna switch it up with him you know. I honestly don't know how this would even happen but how about a Hugo x B!Logan and another (and this time repeatable) Rhot x B!Logan. just putting it out there. Or you know what? how about all the different races fucking B!Logan, I just wanna see him get railed by knots and furry dicks aside from Caleb and Ste.
I make my PC regularly visit places because you never know when some events fire or if there are new events / characters put into the game. One of those places is the guard tower in Bareshade. I can imagine a lot of things that might change there. When my PC goes up he often does not get the choice to not fuck the guard against it's will. So, can I safely ditch the tower from now on?
The (Fame) Lewd value is 0 when my char is in Bareshade (Brave: 16).
wait Arion and Harold are after BS for you? they show up after Gunnar and Torben on mine. maybe its actually in order of when you do things for them? so like Bernard will always be first since the tutorial forces you to do a quest for him then it's whoever you speak with next?
That can't be chronological since my PC met Arion, Harold and Rhot way before Julian (which appears "earlier" in the list). As well Rhot was close way before my character freed Korg from the succubus' claws (Korg appears earlier on the Relations list as well).
I guess only Hyao could give a well-founded answer here. For me - if it's not chronological and not ordered by region* ** then it does not matter how the list is ordered. * I see no benefit for the player other than getting a hint where an NPC can be found but there is no visual element that shows where a region starts and ends in that list and the names of the regions are not displayed either. ** Ordering by region could be the result of the way the game is implemented, the way Python works or the tools RenPy gives to the game developer.
The list of items in the chest screen (available in the teachers hut) is sorted alphabetically by default but I don't know how items are saved - there might be a simple list internally (Python/RenPy) which would make an alphabetical sort operation very easy or you could even insert an item in alphabetical order when it is put into the inventory. I don't know Python so that may all not be the case and I don't know RenPy either. Or maybe it's easy and you can just ask Python / RenPy to give you all Names (and references) for all objects of the type NPC.
Whatsoever, the entries are in the order they are now for a reason. I'm not asking for an alphabetical list by default but a way to order the NPCs that belong there alphabetically would be really useful. This is more work for Hyao and although enhancing the user interface is in the TODO list there will be entries with higher priorities right now.
Just to say it once: I'm really grateful that Hyao creates this game! The same applies to the other content providers! The game is already addictive and very enjoyable and it has a lot of potential. I can't think of a game with similar characteristics that offers this much and is free ... made my only one programmer and a bunch of artists.
Did you finish first the troubles in the den, because if you do, you will not gonna encounter that scene anymore, that's the reason why i restart my progress.
nothing official, usually we just post the bugs in the comments and Hyao deals with them in the next update. unless it's large enough to cause issues where no one can play, then it's patched asap.
Is it known that when you hover "Craft" next to recipe name in the alchemy screen you get "In Bag: 0" for any type of bomb? It's correct in other screens (chest and backpack).
The following happened when a save game that was made with version 0.49 is opened with 0.48. Sorry. (Maybe there should be an explicit warning that the savegame incompatible?)
BTW: When I switch from the chest screen to the backpack screen I get an exception and the game crashes with Exception: DynamicImage u'[kazdy_element.icon]': could not find image. (u'ic erotic book')
EDIT: Happens any time when I open the backpack, obviously when I bought the book in NorthCrest.
I don't know if a warning is needed but maybe Hyao could add one sometime. also yeah, the errors are because the old version doesn't have the code from the new one, IE that book and it's unable to load it properly. do not use old versions with new version save files, it's just going to be a buggy mess. the bomb thing though no idea that that happened, Hyao hopefully should be able to patch it sometime soon then.
yes, screenshots of errors would be helpful since its pretty much directly the code with no room for error, also I meant I had no idea, maybe others did sorry for phrasing it as no one noticed, I only know I didn't notice.

no not really your fault, also not what I was going for so sorry if that's how it sounded. if it's not automatic it's quite easy to forget to do it. I've done it in a lot of games I download from the site and accidentally start a version from like 3 months ago trying to start the current version and end up getting a LOT of errors and stuff.
I have Rhot on Like 79 but only one heart. Been snuggling a few times while watching the fireworks but I have no clue how to get the second heart. After waking up he says that he's not completely trusting me. Does he make up his mind of what to ask of me or is there an event I have to trigger?
he is written by Hyao, not a guest written character. the Lizard tribe only has one guest written character and that is Xer! you can check who is written by someone else, and who they are written by in the menu for credits.
Does someone of the creators have the intention to make dating Blake possible? It's a pity that you can only have sex with him. You can be gentle when you give him a "massage" but he only reacts once on that and it has no effect on the "connection" you have with him.
So I'd really like if there would be more possibility to interact with him - ideally two or three quests to win his heart.
oh yeah he will get a route, I say this a lot but a good way to check if an NPC will be datable is to check the relationship tab in the heart menu. if they are on it you can eventually date them whenever Hyao adds it in.

Blake - loaded savegame of day 160 - is in the relationship tab (no heart). But neither Gunnar nor "Cocky Guard" do appear in that relationship list - I'm pretty sure my Player Character met him in the very beginning at the "Track". The reason that he's not in the list - at that time - may be that my PC rejected him for quite a while.
On the other hand side Julian (owner of the Inn in NC) and Vicoria (River's Cave) are in the list. I guess both are not and probably will never be datable.
However, the game lists Gunnar when I load a savegame of day 194. Both savegames (day 160 and 194) are made on version 0.47.5.Extra.
So if Gunnar is datable in 0.47.5.Extra then shouldn't he have been in the list when I met him first?
I originally thought that any NPC that can be interacted with (more than fight) appears in that list when you met it for the first time. That would make sense since showing the value of "Like" and if there is a heart or not for any NPC might be useful. Doesn't it have an influence on dialogue options and events? However, Gunnar and Garuik were not added when my PC met them first so it does not work that way either.
the Gunnar thing might be because you don't know his name and the book only records characters with names. (if this can be disproven that's my bad, but I can't exactly test this yet.) that should be why he showed up later because you found out his name is 0.47.5.EXTRA so he showed up, also on Garuik I believe he will show up eventually but he hasn't yet because he doesn't have any events to increase like with him so it doesn't need to be tracked yet, but since he is a guest character, he will eventually have an option for relations depending on how the guest writer writes him.

I don't believe he has a heart event yet so he can't have one. also, Viccoria will prolly be someone you can date but that's a lot later since the game is currently focusing on male characters atm since that's the focus for romantic and sexual scenes and such at the moment. Hyao wrote on the main page it's focused on homosexual content but will not be limited to that, so if a woman character is in there, she should have a route eventually. like Rose. Julian though just doesn't have much stuff at the moment, but he will have a route eventually since he is in the book, any character in it will have a route eventually as I stated before it's just, they sometimes take a minute to show up in special cases, like Garuik isn't in it yet due to not having much in game yet and Gunnar you need his name before he's added.
also yes it does influence dialog because certain things when you speak with them change, like with Bernard when you have no hearts or any like he just casually greets you, but when you have 4 hearts and like max like he smiles and greets you more affectionately, however not every encountered character is recorded in there if you can interact with out of fights, like how Khalagor isn't in there yet after we fought we then fought him, and most merchants are just random merchants we just speak to and don't add to the book.

I have no intention to make my PC date her. I did only mention her because she is displayed in the Relations list. Well, I might date her if she can help me fight the Nameless - this is a RPG after all so my PC can date her if I make him do it (and if it becomes possible of course). I didn't try but it looked like I could have make him start something with Othra although he's gay.

What does "route" mean in this context? Quest line? Or being datable? Julian is the Inn owner in Northcrest, right? If it's "datable", take your time - there are more interesting characters that appear earlier in the game. :-)
So there are characters that can be dated and some can not. I thought you ment that I can tell the difference from the Relations list - NPC is in the list: datable, not in the list: no date possible.
As you said in the reply above, hearts only appear when the "heart event" happened. So when my PC just meets Bernard and Blake at the beginning of a game they are both in the list. How do I know that only one of them is datable and that it is Bernard?
Please, there is no need to add all the merchants if they do nothing else but buy or sell stuff. At some point it might become useful to have the information what kind of merchants are located in a place - maybe in the map - but that is not needed yet.
omg I checked the Gunnar thing I completely forgot it did that. thank you for pointing it out, I'm now uncertain why they wouldn't show up in the relationship list. Sorry about that one.
on Viccoria that's fair, most people play this for the gay stuff and Viccoria is not the gay stuff lol, but on mentioning the nameless and her makes me wonder if that is actually a possibility, maybe we can bond with her, and she can tell us about him if he's like a famous demon or just use demonic magic to assist us if we do fight him!
also, it's definitely not going to offend anyone saying you're ok with it staying mainly gay since most people who even mention wanting more female content to get disliked to hell lol. I also agree but irrelevant lol
I use route to mean romantic path/story quests interchangeably, in this one I mean romantic path. plus, the earlier guys have actually been getting a lot of love so the take your time bit on Julian is already going on XD
on the datable or not, that is pretty much exactly what I meant just not that you can tell if they have a heart event. if they are on the list, they should EVENTUALLY have a romance path. that is what I intended to say in the beginning, but the phrasing didn't say eventually and can be misinterpreted. sorry about that.
the part about how we tell who is datable already and who isn't is that we can't. unless you read the devlogs from the beginning to the current updates, but Hyao is working on a system to alert us in the relationship tab on who can get hearts and who can't yet so that's a feature upcoming but not yet in game. you can also ask in the comments if a certain character has routes or check out the fan made guide by Ben Dover, it's REALLY large and has everything in game already in it, so if you're ok with some spoilers you can use that to check who has a heart event and who doesn't!
last thing, yeah adding in a romance route for EVERY merchant would be excessive, I was just using them as examples of characters we speak to and don't fight, but also don't add to the book or have a chance for romance as far as I'm aware. the other points are also true, it's not needed but when the game is large enough a map or something with the merchants' locations written would be useful! but later as we already can tell all the merchant's locations rather easy in the latest versions lol.
all three, thats also what I had trouble since I lost male characters crotch virginity and it never triggered. found out the event I thought was mandatory but it wasn't lol
oh shit missed this, the only advice I got is just don't screw people and tell Bernard you don't wanna stay the night the first time and just beeline for the werewolf plot lol

Accept the "more potions" quest from Bernard and then look into the potions book in the hut.

IIRC the game is showing that. You need either two hearts or be intelligent enough to convince him. Maybe enough strength (use force) might do as well - I'm not sure.Maybe you need to help him with the guy which is stalking him first.

Everetts men still attack the PC after it became Everetts special agent
So Everett officially made my player character his special agent for the contact with the Orcs. That happened when he gave access to the military area in Northcrest (barracks, jail and Alden - not the training area*). IIRC he even told the soldiers/guards to give full support. When visiting the outpost the guards directly lead the way to Everett.
However, the soldiers on the Battlefield and the guards on the Northcrest Road are still attacking. Shouldn't they know about the special agent status? After all, Everett is their top military commander.
* There is a separate button to click for the sparing area ("Take a look") so I guess it will be available later or it is not in the game yet.

Probably due to some interaction (visiting the mine?) with Dulrig the soldiers on the battlefield let go now. I guess another event will pacify the NorthCrest guards on the NC Road as well.

Triggering the "I owe you a beer" event is fcking frustrating. I've completed all the necessary events to trigger that one. I literally slept/rest on my house on bareshade like a hundred times and still nothing.

It's been a while since I've played this one and just got back into it and I have finally updated both saves for Normal and Bottom Logan routes to the recent events. Thank fuck, this was a long ass game but I love it that way.
Also let me just say, I did not anticipate being into troglodytes this much as I have. Those scenes with them were something. I used to ignore them when they didn't have any sprites and they're not exactly the hottest out of all the monsters, hell out of all the characters even honestly, but I dunno, there's something about them that intrigued me. Plus that gangbang scene with them in that cave was hot. With them talking over my character in a language I don't understand while they take my character's ass was hot. Maybe they're calling my character a bitch or maybe they're talking about keeping my character there forever, I dunno it's just very intriguing to think about.
Also, I hope we get more Bottom Logan stuff, I honestly love his Normal route, he finally fucked my character but I still wanna switch it up with him you know. I honestly don't know how this would even happen but how about a Hugo x B!Logan and another (and this time repeatable) Rhot x B!Logan. just putting it out there. Or you know what? how about all the different races fucking B!Logan, I just wanna see him get railed by knots and furry dicks aside from Caleb and Ste.

guard tower in Bareshade
I make my PC regularly visit places because you never know when some events fire or if there are new events / characters put into the game. One of those places is the guard tower in Bareshade. I can imagine a lot of things that might change there.
When my PC goes up he often does not get the choice to not fuck the guard against it's will. So, can I safely ditch the tower from now on?
The (Fame) Lewd value is 0 when my char is in Bareshade (Brave: 16).

In what order are the NPCs in the Relations list displayed?
It's sometimes hard for me to find a character.
its by area, starting with Bareshade and ending on the forest zones Tao takes you too.
For my day 330 savegame the list shows (top to bottom)

It starts with BS, then there are other places, then again BS (Arion, Harold) then other places.
wait Arion and Harold are after BS for you? they show up after Gunnar and Torben on mine. maybe its actually in order of when you do things for them? so like Bernard will always be first since the tutorial forces you to do a quest for him then it's whoever you speak with next?

That can't be chronological since my PC met Arion, Harold and Rhot way before Julian (which appears "earlier" in the list). As well Rhot was close way before my character freed Korg from the succubus' claws (Korg appears earlier on the Relations list as well).
I guess only Hyao could give a well-founded answer here. For me - if it's not chronological
and not ordered by region* ** then it does not matter how the list is ordered.*
I see no benefit for the player other than getting a hint where an NPC can be found but there is no visual element that shows where a region starts and ends in that list and the names of the regions are not displayed either.
**Ordering by region could be the result of the way the game is implemented, the way Python works or the tools RenPy gives to the game developer.The list of items in the chest screen (available in the teachers hut) is sorted alphabetically by default but I don't know how items are saved - there might be a simple list internally (Python/RenPy) which would make an alphabetical sort operation very easy or you could even insert an item in alphabetical order when it is put into the inventory. I don't know Python so that may all not be the case and I don't know RenPy either. Or maybe it's easy and you can just ask Python / RenPy to give you all Names (and references) for all objects of the type NPC.Whatsoever, the entries are in the order they are now for a reason. I'm not asking for an alphabetical list by default but a way to order the NPCs that belong there alphabetically would be really useful.
This is more work for Hyao and although enhancing the user interface is in the TODO list there will be entries with higher priorities right now.
Just to say it once:
I'm really grateful that Hyao creates this game! The same applies to the other content providers!
The game is already addictive and very enjoyable and it has a lot of potential. I can't think of a game with similar characteristics that offers this much and is free ... made my only one programmer and a bunch of artists.

Whats the easiest way to trigger the "i owe you a beer" event?
There's no easy way to achieve it, you are really need to complete the events(Barshade Expansion (new houses, fair and defense) and Country Road).

nothing official, usually we just post the bugs in the comments and Hyao deals with them in the next update. unless it's large enough to cause issues where no one can play, then it's patched asap.
Is it known that when you hover "Craft" next to recipe name in the alchemy screen you get "In Bag: 0" for any type of bomb? It's correct in other screens (chest and backpack).
The following happened when a save game that was made with version 0.49 is opened with 0.48. Sorry. (Maybe there should be an explicit warning that the savegame incompatible?)
BTW: When I switch from the chest screen to the backpack screen I get an exception and the game crashes withException: DynamicImage u'[kazdy_element.icon]': could not find image. (u'ic erotic book')
EDIT: Happens any time when I open the backpack, obviously when I bought the book in NorthCrest.I don't know if a warning is needed but maybe Hyao could add one sometime. also yeah, the errors are because the old version doesn't have the code from the new one, IE that book and it's unable to load it properly. do not use old versions with new version save files, it's just going to be a buggy mess. the bomb thing though no idea that that happened, Hyao hopefully should be able to patch it sometime soon then.

The problem is that I forget that the link on the desktop does not automatically update when I unpack and use a new version of the game. Clearly my fault!
no not really your fault, also not what I was going for so sorry if that's how it sounded. if it's not automatic it's quite easy to forget to do it. I've done it in a lot of games I download from the site and accidentally start a version from like 3 months ago trying to start the current version and end up getting a LOT of errors and stuff.

I have Rhot on Like 79 but only one heart. Been snuggling a few times while watching the fireworks but I have no clue how to get the second heart.
After waking up he says that he's not completely trusting me. Does he make up his mind of what to ask of me or is there an event I have to trigger?

he is written by Hyao, not a guest written character. the Lizard tribe only has one guest written character and that is Xer! you can check who is written by someone else, and who they are written by in the menu for credits.

Does someone of the creators have the intention to make dating Blake possible?
It's a pity that you can only have sex with him. You can be gentle when you give him a "massage" but he only reacts once on that and it has no effect on the "connection" you have with him.
So I'd really like if there would be more possibility to interact with him - ideally two or three quests to win his heart.
oh yeah he will get a route, I say this a lot but a good way to check if an NPC will be datable is to check the relationship tab in the heart menu. if they are on it you can eventually date them whenever Hyao adds it in.

Blake - loaded savegame of day 160 - is in the relationship tab (no heart). But neither Gunnar nor "Cocky Guard" do appear in that relationship list - I'm pretty sure my Player Character met him in the very beginning at the "Track". The reason that he's not in the list - at that time - may be that my PC rejected him for quite a while.
On the other hand side Julian (owner of the Inn in NC) and Vicoria (River's Cave) are in the list. I guess both are not and probably will never be datable. However, the game lists Gunnar when I load a savegame of day 194. Both savegames (day 160 and 194) are made on version 0.47.5.Extra.
So if Gunnar is datable in 0.47.5.Extra then shouldn't he have been in the list when I met him first?
I originally thought that any NPC that can be interacted with (more than fight) appears in that list when you met it for the first time. That would make sense since showing the value of "Like" and if there is a heart or not for any NPC might be useful. Doesn't it have an influence on dialogue options and events? However, Gunnar and Garuik were not added when my PC met them first so it does not work that way either.
Now, I might have misunderstood your reply.
the Gunnar thing might be because you don't know his name and the book only records characters with names. (if this can be disproven that's my bad, but I can't exactly test this yet.) that should be why he showed up later because you found out his name is 0.47.5.EXTRA so he showed up, also on Garuik I believe he will show up eventually but he hasn't yet because he doesn't have any events to increase like with him so it doesn't need to be tracked yet, but since he is a guest character, he will eventually have an option for relations depending on how the guest writer writes him.
on Blake what do you mean "no heart"? I don't believe he has a heart event yet so he can't have one. also, Viccoria will prolly be someone you can date but that's a lot later since the game is currently focusing on male characters atm since that's the focus for romantic and sexual scenes and such at the moment. Hyao wrote on the main page it's focused on homosexual content but will not be limited to that, so if a woman character is in there, she should have a route eventually. like Rose. Julian though just doesn't have much stuff at the moment, but he will have a route eventually since he is in the book, any character in it will have a route eventually as I stated before it's just, they sometimes take a minute to show up in special cases, like Garuik isn't in it yet due to not having much in game yet and Gunnar you need his name before he's added.
also yes it does influence dialog because certain things when you speak with them change, like with Bernard when you have no hearts or any like he just casually greets you, but when you have 4 hearts and like max like he smiles and greets you more affectionately, however not every encountered character is recorded in there if you can interact with out of fights, like how Khalagor isn't in there yet after we fought we then fought him, and most merchants are just random merchants we just speak to and don't add to the book.
In that case the book shows "Cocky Guard" ;-) Same applies to "Shopkeeper".
I have no intention to make my PC date her. I did only mention her because she is displayed in the Relations list. Well, I might date her if she can help me fight the Nameless - this is a RPG after all so my PC can date her if I make him do it (and if it becomes possible of course). I didn't try but it looked like I could have make him start something with Othra although he's gay.

What does "route" mean in this context? Quest line? Or being datable? Julian is the Inn owner in Northcrest, right? If it's "datable", take your time - there are more interesting characters that appear earlier in the game. :-)
So there are characters that can be dated and some can not. I thought you ment that I can tell the difference from the Relations list - NPC is in the list: datable, not in the list: no date possible.
As you said in the reply above, hearts only appear when the "heart event" happened. So when my PC just meets Bernard and Blake at the beginning of a game they are both in the list. How do I know that only one of them is datable and that it is Bernard?
Please, there is no need to add all the merchants if they do nothing else but buy or sell stuff. At some point it might become useful to have the information what kind of merchants are located in a place - maybe in the map - but that is not needed yet.

on Viccoria that's fair, most people play this for the gay stuff and Viccoria is not the gay stuff lol, but on mentioning the nameless and her makes me wonder if that is actually a possibility, maybe we can bond with her, and she can tell us about him if he's like a famous demon or just use demonic magic to assist us if we do fight him!

on the datable or not, that is pretty much exactly what I meant just not that you can tell if they have a heart event. if they are on the list, they should EVENTUALLY have a romance path. that is what I intended to say in the beginning, but the phrasing didn't say eventually and can be misinterpreted. sorry about that.
the part about how we tell who is datable already and who isn't is that we can't. unless you read the devlogs from the beginning to the current updates, but Hyao is working on a system to alert us in the relationship tab on who can get hearts and who can't yet so that's a feature upcoming but not yet in game. you can also ask in the comments if a certain character has routes or check out the fan made guide by Ben Dover, it's REALLY large and has everything in game already in it, so if you're ok with some spoilers you can use that to check who has a heart event and who doesn't!
last thing, yeah adding in a romance route for EVERY merchant would be excessive, I was just using them as examples of characters we speak to and don't fight, but also don't add to the book or have a chance for romance as far as I'm aware. the other points are also true, it's not needed but when the game is large enough a map or something with the merchants' locations written would be useful! but later as we already can tell all the merchant's locations rather easy in the latest versions lol.
